SLIM
Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing
The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is the apex body for Sri Lankan Marketers, which was founded in 1970 and subsequently incorporated by an act of Parliament in 1980, recognizing it as the National Body for Marketing and a ‘not-for-profit’ organization.
SLIM is mandated to uplift the Marketing profession in Sri Lanka, thus providing Marketing studies and conducting many National level events and projects. SLIM is governed by a Council of Management and an Executive Committee headed by a President and comprising of professionals from numerous industries in an honorary capacity.
With the vision of leading the nation’s efforts towards economic prosperity and the mission of establishing Marketing as the driving force to enhance business and national value, SLIM actively promotes Marketing as an essential business philosophy to facilitate the mission of establishing Marketing as the driving force which enhances business and national value alike.
IIHE
Imperial College of Higher Education
Imperial Institute of Higher Education IIHE was established in 1996, starting its operations in a very modest scale, being associated with the prestigious University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), U.K. in providing both undergraduate (B.Sc. Honours in Management) and post-graduate (MBA-Masters in Business Administration) level education.
The association so far, has produced over 600 B.Sc. graduates and over 500 MBA post-graduates. The majority of graduates completed their entire educational program in Sri Lanka, while a few did proceed to Wales, for their 3 rd year studies, pursuing the “Transfer Study” route.
During the past 20 years, IIHE has maintained a reputation for “Quality” in delivery of tertiary education. This was possible as IIHE is required to satisfy the rigorous demand of the Quality Assurance Agency of U.K. and the parent universities, UWTSD and UoS. Continuous evaluations are carried out by the universities to ensure that IIHE is conducting the programs in accordance with the agreed standards.
At IIHE, the emphasis is on “Quality” in everything we do, and open opportunities for higher education to sync with our Mission to produce business leaders of future, which is increasingly sought by Sri Lankan corporate and SME sectors.
ABE
Advancing Business Education
ABE is a not-for-profit skills development specialist and awarding organisation providing internationally recognised learning and credentials, and quality assurance.
ABE focuses on business and entrepreneurship skills, and makes a difference to the lives of people in some of the world’s poorest countries. We work with a network of international partners to develop skills that empower individuals, reduce gender inequality and tackle extreme poverty. Our expertise in operating on a transnational scale, and in some of the world’s most challenging environments, makes us the partner of choice to support governments and organisations in the deployment of economic capacity building projects.
From our qualifications portfolio, 1.5 million people have mastered essential and advanced modern business concepts, and ABE continues to play a vital role in helping to diversify and grow economies, reducing inequality within and among countries. In this respect, the impact that ABE qualifications have extends far beyond our students, our alumni go on to lead change, inspire communities and build successful social or commercial enterprises all over the world.
